Raising Queens Empowerment Summit Success

The Raising Queens Empowerment Event was an incredible success, bringing together over 35 young ladies and more than 20 supportive adults to create a transformative experience filled with inspiration, empowerment, and growth.

Event Highlights

Networking Activities
The day began with engaging networking activities, allowing the young ladies to connect, build relationships, and feel supported in a positive, empowering environment.
Unbound: Releasing to Rise Activity
During this impactful session, the girls explored what has been holding them back from becoming the best versions of themselves. They courageously released those barriers through discussion and reflection. Many shared that they felt stronger and more empowered afterward, expressing how much they enjoyed the activity and the sense of freedom it brought.
Words of Worth Activity
In this deeply emotional exercise, the young ladies wrote empowerment letters to one another. They reflected on how touching and meaningful the activity was, noting how much they loved the opportunity to uplift and support their peers.
Queens Rise Awards
We were honored to recognize two young ladies with the Queens Rise Award, celebrating their consistent participation in previous events and programs, as well as their academic excellence. Each recipient was awarded a $500 scholarship to support their future endeavors.
Dinner & Panel Discussion
The attendees enjoyed an amazing dinner before participating in a dynamic and engaging panel discussion covering topics such as self-esteem, healthy relationships, mental health, and more. The young ladies asked insightful questions and didn’t hold back, making the conversation vibrant and meaningful.

EmpowerGen Success Highlight

Dashawn Catron

Dashawn Catron, a sophomore at Mays High School, has been an outstanding participant and peer leader in the EmpowerGen program. Since joining, Dashawn and his brother Romel have launched two successful ventures: Catron Brothers, LLC, a real estate company dedicated to revitalizing some of Atlanta’s most challenging areas, and the Catron Brothers Foundation, which focuses on giving back to the community. While working together as a dynamic team, both brothers also pursue individual goals. Dashawn is actively working on a series of children's books, showcasing his commitment to creativity and entrepreneurship. EmpowerGen has been instrumental in fostering their growth, leadership, and dedication to community impact.

Romel Catron

Dashawn Catron

Romel Catron, a junior at Mays High School, has shown remarkable growth and leadership as part of the EmpowerGen program. Alongside his brother Dashawn, Romel co-founded Catron Brothers, LLC, a real estate company focused on revitalizing Atlanta’s most challenging neighborhoods, and the Catron Brothers Foundation, which aims to give back to the community. Romel also has his own individual aspirations; he is dedicated to launching a motivational clothing line that inspires his peers. Through EmpowerGen, Romel has developed his entrepreneurial skills and continues to make a positive impact both within his community and beyond.

In a heartwarming event, we had the privilege of serving 35 families, ensuring that over 65 children experienced the magic of the holiday season with special Christmas gifts. The atmosphere was filled with excitement, laughter, and gratitude as we came together to spread cheer and create lasting memories. This event was a testament to the generosity and support of our community, making it a truly special occasion. As we reflect on the smiles and happiness we shared, we look forward to building on this success for future initiatives, continuing our mission of empowering and uplifting those we serve.
