Nakita Williams is a dynamic Youth Advocate, nonprofit leader, certified Victim Advocate, author, mentor, and community change-maker whose life journey reflects resilience, healing, and transformation. Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Nakita relocated to Georgia in 2017, bringing with her a deep passion for empowering underserved youth, advocating for survivors, and strengthening communities through trauma-informed care, mentorship, and holistic support services.
Nakita’s early years were shaped by the challenges of navigating the foster care system, experiencing instability through multiple foster homes and group residences. Despite these hardships, she found hope, healing, and belonging through youth-serving organizations that encouraged self-expression, leadership, and personal growth. Those experiences ignited her lifelong mission to ensure that young people and survivors facing adversity are seen, supported, empowered, and given opportunities to thrive.
Today, Nakita is recognized as an accomplished community leader with more than 15 years of experience in Human and Social Services. Her professional background includes leadership roles in youth development, social-emotional wellness, program management, nonprofit leadership, trauma-informed care, mentorship, advocacy, and survivor support services. Throughout her career, she has successfully developed and implemented impactful programs focused on youth empowerment, mental wellness, leadership development, creative expression, entrepreneurship, and healing-centered engagement.
Nakita is the Founder and Executive Director of POETIC Services, Inc. (Purpose-filled Outreach Empowering Teens Inspiring Creativity), a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth through mentorship, leadership development, entrepreneurship, social-emotional learning, advocacy, and creative arts programming. Through initiatives such as Raising Queens Empowerment Program, EmpowerGEN Youth Entrepreneurship Program, Healing Through Art, and the Restored Voices Program, Nakita has created safe spaces where youth and survivors are encouraged to heal, discover their voices, build confidence, and break cycles of poverty, trauma, and exploitation.
As a Certified Victim Advocate and passionate advocate for Human Trafficking survivors, Nakita has dedicated significant efforts toward awareness, prevention, survivor empowerment, and community education. She actively serves on the Georgia Statewide Human Trafficking Task Force, collaborating with community leaders, organizations, and stakeholders to combat trafficking and strengthen support systems for survivors. Her advocacy work focuses on trauma-informed approaches, survivor-centered programming, education, and restoring hope for individuals impacted by exploitation and abuse.
In addition to her nonprofit leadership, Nakita is the Founder of Purposefilled Inspiration Coaching & Consulting LLC, where she provides life coaching, nonprofit consulting, grant development, mentorship, business support services, and empowerment resources designed to help individuals and organizations grow with purpose and intention.
A passionate advocate for mental wellness and healing, Nakita is also an accomplished author and poet. She is the Author of the Purposefilled Journal Series, a collection of guided journals and personal development resources created to inspire healing, self-reflection, growth, and empowerment. Nakita is also the author of the poetry book I Was Never Hard to Love, a deeply personal and impactful collection of poetry centered around healing, self-worth, trauma, resilience, and emotional growth. Through her writing and spoken-word style, she uses poetry as a platform for healing, advocacy, and empowerment, encouraging others to embrace their stories and find strength through vulnerability.
Throughout her career, Nakita has been recognized for her leadership, dedication, and service to the community. Her honors include community leadership recognition and awards from organizations such as the Boys & Girls Clubs and community partners for her unwavering commitment to youth development, advocacy, and community impact. She was also nominated for Covington’s 40 Under 40 in recognition of her growing influence as a leader and changemaker.
Nakita has served on various committees and advocacy initiatives, including youth arts initiatives and child welfare advocacy efforts. Her lived experience, combined with her professional expertise, allows her to connect authentically with the individuals and communities she serves. She remains deeply committed to creating pathways for healing, leadership, empowerment, and opportunity for youth, families, and survivors.
Nakita holds a Master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Bryant & Stratton College, and Graduate Certificates in Contemporary Theory in Mental Health Services and Couple & Family Systems from Capella University.
Driven by her personal motto, “I want to inspire people; I want someone to look at me and say, ‘Because of you, I didn’t give up,’” Nakita continues to dedicate her life to empowering others, transforming communities, and creating lasting impact through purpose-driven leadership, advocacy, and service.
